Huntington Beach – Not Much For Sale

Huntington Beach California is having a great summer that peaks with the US Open of surfing in just a couple of weeks.   Hotel operators say that bookings are way up over the 2011 summer and you can see it down town.  Last year there was walking room on any given Saturday.  For 2012, you can’t check the walking room because all the hotels are booked and parking spaces are taken.

Open house cruising is difficult at best.  That is if you can find something open.  At the north end in Huntington Harbor, waterfront homes that are priced right are off the market in a matter of weeks.  Currently only three are listed under $2.0 Million and one is clearly a “fixer”.  This weekend, at least two of the houses will be held open according to Kelly Bourquin of Keller Williams.  Kelly and her office partner Diane Rector will both be hosting different waterfront open houses this weekend.  Both homes are in very livable condition and priced to sell according to Kelly.

As the inventory continues to shrink prices are creeping upward.  Off water homes in the Harbor have risen above $1.0 Million for the first time in years.  Downtown Huntington Beach also has a shortage of inventory, mostly because vacation rentals were hot this year.  If you are thinking about a home in Huntington Beach or Huntington Harbor, while there isn’t much to see, there are still a couple of well priced homes ready for you to enjoy.
