Once again the big hammer in small business accounting is leaving it’s customers hanging. Our parent company was told it had to upgrade to a new version of Quickbooks or lose our ability to download from our banks and credit cards. This is really the only reason Quickbooks is worth a penny.
Of course we used Costco to buy the upgrade since it was $40 less expensive than the “Special Offer” Intuit sent us directly. Good Deal right? Nope.
The Costco Package said 90 days free support. So when I opened the box and the product id was covered with silver tape that removes the product number did I get a human? No, I got a message that said, “We are improving how our customer support works… this number is no longer in service…” go to www.quickbooks.com/helpme. On that site it said the silver sticker covering my code was a scratch of. That just made a mess, but thankfully Simple Green removed the silver crap and gave me the numbers that I needed.
Really? First Intuit can’t make a decent product for the Mac, and then they won’t even keep the phone numbers working for the 90 days they promised. Where is the FTC? Better yet, where is a better alternative software?
