After pulling ahead 3-0, Los Angeles (Anaheim) Angels fans began to gather in the upper right field corner. The small shirtless crowd grew from a couple of dozen to over a hundred. They shouted “Artie Sucks” and “Sell The Team”. Just two months ago John Mozeliak was appointed the interim General Manager for the Angels after Perry Minasian was released (or fired depending on who you talk to).
More recently Kurt Suzuki was brought up to be the manager for his Major League management debut. With any changes as big as these two, growing pains are to be expected. Does Artie really need to sell the team? It was a hot night and the crowd was entertained as the group continued to grow. But then the game took its normal Angels turn. The Phillies began hitting and hitting of course led to scoring and the Angels lost the 3-0 lead and the game with a 3-5 win handed to the Phillies.
Maybe the crowd should have been chanting “Kurt get some pitchers”? Did changing the name to “LA” Angels bring on the rowdy crowd?
