Huntington Beach, CA
The Huntington Harbor Cruise of Lights is still going on next weekend if you miss the boat parade this weekend. Last nights boat parade saw some great entries for the Space Odyssey theme. For the over 55 years the members of the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club and other local yacht clubs dress up their boats to win prizes and thank the homeowners on the water who spend the time to decorate their homes for the holidays.
This years trophy went to the members of the Seagate Yacht Club for their boat decorations. The highlight was the Marina High School entry of the Viking Yacht that was on KCAL9 coverage of the Huntington Beach fourth of July parade. It really floats, and has no motor!
The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Cruise of Lights® offers narrated boat tours through the waterways of Huntington Harbour in Huntington Beach, California. In December both locals and visitors share the beauty of thousands of lights and animated displays on brightly decorated homes, docks, decks and boats.
If you can find a parking spot the Boat Parade is worth the effort, but if you can’t make it, there is easy parking at the Huntington Harbor Mall with a shuttle to take you to the boats where you can enjoy an evening on the water looking at the homes decorated to help raise money for music programs for kids.
Tonight is the last night for the boat parade but the Cruise of Lights runs December 14-17th this year as well as December 20-23rd. Don’t miss out on one of the great light tours in Southern California.
Offering a great break from the everyday drive, you can sit on a boat and enjoy the holiday season. A great time for the whole family.
