Thunderbirds Highlight the Great Pacific Airshow 2019

Huntington Beach Once again hosts the Great Pacific Airshow with the USAF Thunderbirds Demonstration team headlining. With nearly perfect weather predicted, Fridays test day did not disappoint. If you don’t want to spend the weekend inside at the Orange County Auto Show, head to the beach.

Southern California normally has a lot going on, and this weekend is no exception. An auto show, and air show and a fantastic art show. Secret beach tip, if you get too hot outside at the airshow, walk up main street and check out the display at the Huntington Beach Art Center or Surf Museum.

With demonstrations by airplanes from 1940 to the most modern F-22. Even a “heritage” flyby that includes a WWII era P-51, an A-10 and an F-22.

The flying starts at 11:00 am and runs until about 4:30. Streat vendors and the festival area will be open until all day as well.

The AirShow of the Pacific 2019 features flying demonstrations, games, and fun for the whole family. With parking at the Huntington State Beach or easy bus service on The Surf City Shuttle, getting to the Airshow is easy. Bring a good chair and sunscreen because if Friday was a preview, it is going to be hot, and sunny.

Earplugs or ear protection is suggested, especially for the little ones. As cool as the latest fighters are they make a lot of noise.

With free seating up and down the beach, upgraded seats were still available at press time. The show offers three different levels of upgraded and shaded seating including the “drop zone” where the parachute performers land.

If you can’t find something to do this weekend in Orange County it’s your fault, because we have a great weekend of events. Get out of the house and enjoy a car show, air show or art show!
