Every Year the Huntington Harbor Philharmonic hosts the “Cruise of Lights”. A top 10 cruise according to the readers of Coastal Living Magazine. Homeowners and boat owners in the Huntington Harbor go all out Griswold with holiday decorations, each trying to out do the other. In a good way that is.
The 2012 theme is 50 years of music to celebrate the 50th year of the Huntington Harbor Philharmonic. Definitely a cruise worth taking, at just $17.00 per adult and $13.00 for kids you can buy tickets online and get the waterside version of Christmas Tree Lane.
Because of the number of people that join the cruise each year two whale watching boats are brought in for the event which runs from December 15th through the 23rd. Bring warm clothes because the evenings along the coast can get quite chilly. There is plenty of parking at the Trader Joes Shopping Center and then you hop on a luxury bus to go to the Huntington Harbor Yacht Club for your evening cruise.
If you want a more private showing, Fuze Sports in Sunset Beach offers Holiday Electric Boat Rentals. Normally you wouldn’t think of renting paddleboards or electric boats at the end of December, but Fuze is open for the Holidays. You and 9 friends can take out an electric boat for an evening cruise and an experience you can’t match on the big whale watching boats.
Bring some salty chocolate pretzels, grab a hot chocolate as you board and set out on your own time schedule to see all of the amazing homes and lights of the Huntington Harbor. There is a limited number of electric boats for rent and time slots so be sure to call Fuze ahead of time at 800-879-FUZE (3879).

No matter which one you choose, you’ll have a great time seeing a great light show.
